November - No Shave November
With a $30 donation, good-hearted, clean-shaven individuals can register to enter the challenge. It begins with a date-stamped "before" picture posted on the event Facebook page and ends with a wild and wooly "after" shot. At the annual Beard Bash in Nashville, prizes are awarded and a No Shave November is crowned. All proceeds go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
November - Movember
The Movember Foundation is a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives. Since 2003, millions have joined the men’s health movement, raising £402 million and funding over 1,000 programmes focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.
December - Decembeard
Campaigning during the month of November is known as 'Movember' where men grow moustaches to raise awareness for prostate cancer; 'Tashes for Testicles'. Beards for Bowels helps raise awareness for bowel cancer by growing beards all year round but mainly campaigning each December... 'Decembeard'.
The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer - October is finally here, which kind of cements the fact that summer is well and truly over. WHAT IS NO SHAVE NOVEMBER?
Like our beards, No Shave November continues to grow! What began as a light-hearted wager among co-workers at Warner Music Nashville is now an annual event engaging Music Row, County Radio, and individuals across the nation. In its first two years, No Shave November raised more than $175,000 for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
