DAVID BECKHAM'S HAIR LOSS: IS BECKS GOING BALD?

David Beckham Hair Loss: Is Beckham’s Famous Hair Starting to Thin?

David Beckham has been something of a male grooming icon for more than 25 years. From curtains and buzz cuts to quiffs and slicked-back styles, few men have influenced men's hair trends quite like Beckham.

But recent holiday photographs have shown a rather different side to his famous hair.

The former England captain was photographed relaxing aboard a luxury yacht, with his wet hair revealing what appears to be significant thinning across the top of his scalp.

So, is David Beckham losing his hair?

Beckham's Hair Looks Noticeably Thinner

At 51, it would hardly be unusual for Beckham to experience some degree of male hair loss. What's particularly interesting is the contrast between these candid photographs and some of his more polished public appearances.

When dry and styled, Beckham's hair can still look impressively full. When wet, however, considerably more of the scalp becomes visible.

Of course, wet hair naturally clumps together and almost always makes thinning look worse. But Beckham's latest appearance does suggest that his overall density isn't what it once was.

Has David Beckham Had a Hair Transplant?

This has been rumoured for years, although Beckham has never confirmed having a hair transplant.

His hairline appeared to recede during his 40s before subsequently looking stronger and fuller in later appearances. That has fuelled speculation that he may have undergone some form of hair restoration.

Hair fibres are another possibility. Cosmetic fibres can make thinning hair appear dramatically denser and may explain why Beckham's hair sometimes looks much thicker — and darker — than it does in candid photographs.

Again, though, that's purely speculation.

There's also no confirmation that Beckham uses finasteride, dutasteride or any other hair-loss medication.

What Can Men Learn From Beckham's Hair?

Perhaps the most useful takeaway has nothing to do with Beckham specifically.

Even a good head of hair can hide quite substantial thinning.

A clever haircut, blow-drying, styling products and hair fibres can make an enormous difference. It's often only when hair becomes wet that men realise how much density they've actually lost.

For men experiencing the early stages of thinning, there are several options, ranging from minoxidil and prescription treatments such as finasteride to hair transplantation.

But not everyone wants medication or surgery.

For those looking for a non-medicated approach, specialist nutritional supplements are another option for supporting normal, healthy hair.

HR23+® Hair Restoration Supplement, for example, combines 23 active ingredients and is designed for long-term nutritional hair support. It won't magically reverse advanced baldness, but for men noticing the earlier signs of thinning, it can form part of a broader hair-maintenance routine.

Whatever David Beckham is — or isn't — doing for his hair remains unknown.

But those yacht photographs provide a useful reminder for the rest of us: if you're starting to notice thinning, it's usually better to address your hair while you still have plenty of it.

DAVID BECKHAM'S HAIR LOSS TREATMENTS

Has David Beckham had hair loss treatments?

Former football player, David Beckham, is commonly rumoured to have had a hair transplant, as well as possible other hair loss treatments, even though the former Manchester United and England footballer has never admitted to partaking in any particular procedures.

Here, The Male Grooming Review explores whether or not David Beckham has had any procedures and, if so, what they may have been.

Has David Beckham had a hair transplant?

Although it cannot be 100% proven that David Beckham has had a hair transplant, there are strong signs that he has. In 2018, Becks had visibly thin hair, from photos taken by paparazzi. From this, experts suggested that he suffered from male pattern baldness, which is common in around two thirds of men by the age of 40.

Former footballer, Wayne Rooney, has always been open about his hair transplant, as has David Villa, but Becks seem a lot more private about his apparent procedure.

What hair transplant procedures may David Beckham have had?

The evidence shows that Beckham likely underwent an FUE transplant. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a popular hair transplant technique used to treat hair loss or baldness. It's a minimally invasive procedure that involves the extraction of individual hair follicles from a donor area and transplanting them into the recipient (balding) area.

There are some strong signs that Beckham had an FUE hair transplant. These include: His once receding hairline seems to have become fuller and more dense. This suggests that a hair transplant took place. FUE has a quick recovery time, which means he could have had the procedure quickly, without anyone noticing.

It should also be noted that Becks was sporting a shaved head during that time, and was wearing hats quite often, This could have been him covering up the procedure while it healed.

Other hair loss treatments that David Beckham could have used

To stump further thinning (with post-transplant, or even without a transplant), Beckham could likely have take finasteride. Finasteride is a medication primarily used to treat enlarged prostate glands and male pattern baldness in men.

It is an oral medication that works by inhibiting the action of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is responsible for the development of the prostate and is also implicated in hair loss. It can help men stump hair loss, however, it does come with the risk of long-term side-effects, which many guys prefer to avoid altogether.

Minoxidil is another treatment that Becks could be using. Commonly branded as Regaine (or Rogaine in the US), Minoxidil is commonly used to treat androgenetic alopecia, also known as male-pattern baldness or female-pattern baldness. It is available over-the-counter in various formulations, including topical solutions and foams.

Again, much like finasteride, this topical treatment can be effective for reducing hair loss, but it does come with the risk of some negative side-effects, so caution is advised.

If Beckham is the type of man who doesn't like using medications, then he could have gone for a safer alternative to finasteride by taking a specialist hair supplement like HR23+. There are various hair supplements on the market that have shown to promote hair health and growth. These supplements often contain a combination of vitamins, minerals, and other ingredients believed to support hair growth.

Conclusion

Based on the photos taken, and of the texture and density of Beckham's hair over the past ten years, or so, it is evident that he has had some work done on his locks.  A hair transplant procedure is very likely, as well as hair loss prevention treatments.
