THE MALE GROOMING GUIDE FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON

The festive season is fast approaching, so here's how to get the best out of your skin, body and hair with the perfect festive season grooming guide.

For many men, it can be a real nightmare sticking to a good grooming routine during the festive season. The month of December is very different to the other eleven months of the year, for obvious reasons, and so it can hinder our skin, body and hair.

That is why it is crucial to stay on top of your grooming routine during time your body needs it the most. So, in this article, The Male Grooming Review brings you some key grooming tips to make sure you keep on top of things, whilst enjoying the festive season...

Keep your skin hydrated

Don't underestimate the damage the cold weather can do to your skin. Many men make the common mistake of assuming we don't need to moisturise as often in the winter, but this is not true. It is perhaps even more important to keep your skin moisturised and hydrated throughout the winter months. And here's why...

We tend to sweat much more during the colder months of the year, because we are often wrapped up in warm clothes. This, in conjunction with the cold temperatures send our body into a confused state,  resulting in excess sweating.  Sweating is good for us, but excess sweating can cause damage to our skin, therefore it is essential that you moisturise the parts of your body that are usually wrapped up and covered.

Combat chapping

Winter can play absolute havoc with our facial skin, and chapping is particularly common in men. This is a condition whereby lips become cracked, rough, or sore, typically through exposure to cold weather.

This can be easily combated by using a good lip balm. Make sure you start using the balm early though, because if you leave it too long, your lips will become more brittle and harder to treat.

Reduce hair loss

Although our hair enters its strongest growth phase during winter season, you still shouldn't underestimate the importance of a good hair care routine.

Our hair can be very prone to damage and breakage during winter, for many of the same reason mentioned for the skin. This can be particularity bad if you are already prone to thinning hair, so you should always be looking for ways to improve the structure of your hair to prevent shedding.

Be sure to take hair growth vitamins. These kinds of supplements will provide your hair with the vital minerals needed for your strands to thrive. This is particularly important during the festive season, because many of us are likely to be falling back on our diets.
